Osteopathy
With practitioners regulated by law in the UK and trained as doctors in the US, osteopathy is a well-established complementary therapy that works on the body’s bones, muscles and connective tissue with massage, manipulation and 'thrusts' - sudden movements that improve joint mobility.

It can treat a variety of structural and other problems. X-rays may be used for diagnosis.

Treatment is not painful, but if necessary a gentler version called ‘cranial osteopathy’ can be used. This treats the wavelike pulsation of the central nervous system, working mainly on the skull but also on the rest of the body.
