Interview with a Medium

Paul Perris is one of the UK’s most well known clairvoyants and mystical mediums, helping people all over the world get in contact with lost loved ones and to find direction in life. Paul Perris and his spirit guide Chan shed some light on the mysterious world of the mystical medium and pass on some messages from beyond the grave.
So Paul what happens on the other side? What does the afterlife look like?
Well it’s very much how dreams would appear to you, landscapes are softer, scenes are more blurred, it’s a gentle place. If you’ve ever meditated you will have let your mind wander and visualized places and people, the afterlife appears like a daydream or visualization.
As a medium how do receive messages from the other side?
I receive messages in a number of ways; all of these are communicated to me by Chan my spiritual guide. I am a trance medium and the messages given to me by Chan come through my own voice box. Chan brings a spirit forward with a message and that spirit is then able to control my voice and speaks through me.
Tell me more about Chan your spirit guide?
Well it’s fair to say that Chan and I are very different, Chan is very playful in his nature and likes to bring humour into things where I am a more serious and reserved. Chan is an amazing character and is over 3000 years old and a highly skilled mathematician. He has become part of everyday life and is with me in all things I do.
When did you first discover you were a medium?
I suppose people are born with this skill but many don’t discover they have these abilities until later in life. I was lucky and realised I had the gift as a child. During my teens and twenties I continued to develop my medium skills and studied at specialist collages under several great teachers.
So Paul do you see ghosts everyday?
No thank goodness! But I am more in tune with spirit presences. And yes I have seen spirits on many occasions.
So what is a ghost? And why are they here?
Sadly most spirits remain in this world as they do not realise they have died and are simply carrying out there day to day activities To give you an example: I was called to a hairdressing salon in Hastings where the staff and customers were reporting strange noises and the feeling of a weird presence in the back of the shop. When I visited the shop it was clear that there was a spirit residing there. We called in other friendly spirits to come and encourage the presence to cross to the other side with them.
So are there good and bad spirits?
As in life there are good and bad people so, on the other side there are spirits with different personalities. However when we die we evolve and change, mainly for the better.
So how do mediums help people?
As a medium, mystic and psychic healer I give comfort to people in times of great crisis. I help those who have lost a loved one and also I help people to choose a path in life and offer support with love and relationships.
As a psychic I can see the bigger picture in people’s lives, I can see what is happening all around them and can often help individuals see ways through difficult and painful times.
What has been your strangest experience as a medium?
I was once asked to contact a rabbit that had recently died. The family were distraught and needed to know he was ok. I tuned into the spirit of the animal and could clearly see him playing and eating grass in the afterlife surrounded by flowers and other animals. The family were hugely relieved.
Do you have any messages you would like to pass on to the public?
Yes I do, I often get communications that I can’t place with anyone I know, just recently I have had a few spirits contact me, here are three readings:

Message 1: A lady in the spirit world comes forwards who passed around the age of 68 after a long illness. She is wearing a tartan blue/green skirt and a grey sweater and would have had longish grey hair. She would have had Edinburgh links and liked the music from Bagpipes. She speaks of the name of Dawn whom she would have linked with on her early life and did teaching as a profession at some time in her life. She showed me her teaching some kind of history lesson, holding a piece of chalk and writing on a blackboard. She has a message for her daughter:
“Thank you for the Lilies. I know that there have been lots of tears recently but they will subside soon. The loss of a baby boy around the age of 2 is being looked after by her in the world of spirit and is OK. The fog around your life will clear very soon and a change of residence will change your perspective, especially if you make your mind up to go abroad.”

Message 2: A Gentleman comes forwards, who was quite tall, wearing glasses and had dark hair. He looks around 45 -50 when he passed with a rare heart condition. He liked reading books and fishing but may have also had difficulties moving around on one of his legs. He had Devon links and lived in quite a large house. He speaks with a link to someone called Margaret and has a message for his wife.
“Thank you for looking after me and for all that you did for me as I never said thank you enough and how much I appreciated and loved you.” He brings in some yellow daffodils and a diamond ring and speaks of an anniversary in May.
“Remember the happy times we had and I will always be by your side. My walking stick is still by the front door I know and I will never forget our holiday around the Lakes. Time for you to move forwards yourself now and take up that study course. Say a big hello to Peter for me”

Message 3: A younger soul comes forwards of the name Robert, who passed around the age of 22 in a tragic motorcycle accident. Although the accident may have happened several years ago, he has a message for his then fiancée.
“We had a very pure love and although I know that your life has moved on, I know what suffering you are currently going through with your divorce. All will work out OK in the end and the courts will rule a fair settlement. Your life will then change for the better and new emotional beginnings will occur by October. Don’t give up and please stop worrying, Mum will be OK also”
