Bach Flowers Remedies:
WALNUT
I’VE chosen this remedy because it seems to have such relevance to people who treat others.
Walnut is the protector, the remedy to help in times of change - physical change and personality change too.
The easier to recognise changes are usually the physical ones - teething in babies, puberty, menopause, and so on. But changes in lifestyle call for Walnut too - moving house (you’ll have used all 37 of the other remedies by then!), changing jobs - all the extra stresses that leave us feeling more vulnerable and insecure.
Sometimes, in a negative Walnut state, we find it hard to shake off the influence of others, often in a past relationship, and we are held back, or start to falter when normally we would know the way forward and trust our own judgement.
Edward Bach describes the negative Walnut state as like being sitting in boat, staring at the other side of the river, your destination, but being tethered to this shore by a thin length of rope. Walnut will help you cut that tie!
As a protector, it is useful too. For therapists, healers, or people involved in other’s problems, Walnut comes into its own. Negative energies need fending off. Healers often tell me that they had a headache, or that their arm was aching, after their client had gone - probably ‘collected’ from the client. No need! A few drops of Walnut, taken regularly, or rubbed on your hands, works a treat!
Breaking patterns, then, like giving up smoking, would call for Walnut.
Change can be such a good motivating stage in our lives and Walnut helps to keep it a positive thing.
THE 38 Bach Remedies are infusions of flowers and trees that work on our emotions. They are widely available in health food shops, natural health centres and chemists and are popular for treatment of adults, children and animals.
