Bach Flowers Remedies:

RESCUE REMEDY

REMEMBER that advertisement for paint - ‘It does what it says on the tin’? Well, Rescue Remedy is just like that.

Rescue Remedy can be used in any emergency: shock, bad news, an accident or even just a bad headache. And it’s useful too when someone has fainted or shouldn’t take liquids because you can rub a few drops on the wrists or temples to help ease things.

Because Rescue Remedy is made up of five of the 38 remedies, it deals with the mix of emotions that are stirred up at times of stress and emergency.

Impatiens helps with the feelings of impatience and of wanting something to happen quickly; Star of Bethlehem is the remedy to use in cases of shock and grief; Cherry Plum is used when we fear that we may lose control of our behaviour; Rock Rose is so useful when we experience that feeling of terror and helplessness; and, lastly, clematis - really good when the person needs grounding and has no interest in their surrounds, like when feeling faint.

So you can see that when these remedies are combined, they make the perfect Rescue Remedy. It’s a useful and essential addition to your medicine box, handbag, glove compartment and pocket.

I can remember dosing myself when trying to feed colicky babies - one of my sons was such a screamer, I don’t know what I would have done without it!

The only problem I’ve ever experienced with Rescue Remedy is that I’m always giving it away - I need to buy it in bulk!

THE 38 Bach Remedies are infusions of flowers and trees that work on our emotions. They are widely available in health food shops, natural health centres and chemists and are popular for treatment of adults, children and animals.
