QUEST2006

Newton Abbot Racecourse, again hosts the largest Natural Health Exhibition in the West of England from Thursday 6th July until Sunday 9th. QUEST attracts leading speakers and is established as a major event with visitors coming from all over the UK, from both the immediate counties of Devon & Cornwell as well as abroad to experience the enormous range of Natural Health products and hands-on therapies.

In a fast moving age many people are seeking ways to look after their health. They wish to take responsibility for their own health and well-being. It is no longer sufficient to visit the doctor when feeling unwell – it is much better to remain well and fit by maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Nutrition, from the food we eat, forms the basis of our Natural Health. If we can maintain a healthy way of eating then our bodies are naturally balanced. We hear, almost daily, of food scares, genetic engineering and we are bombarded by every lobby group that has a vested interest in the processed food industry. At QUEST you can discover more about organic food, nutrition, food supplements and herbal products. Two examples of the many workshops and talks include Julie Sargent’s Nutritional Therapy & Allergy Testing and Barbara-Ann De-Haye who explores Eating Disorders, Bingeing , Compulsive & Over-Eating.

In addition to meeting around 150 exhibitors, who offer an incredibly large array of health and lifestyle products, QUEST2006 introduces many international speakers. Their subjects range from EFT, SandPlay Therapy, Self-Hypnosis, Power Plants, and PositivePsychology through to Tao Healing. They encompass various Massage and Relaxation Techniques,
explore Past Life Regression and Angel Healing, highlighting just a few of the subjects.

There is the opportunity to experience many ‘hands on’ treatments and try out short therapy sessions. Many of the therapies are free or low cost, so why not try out a few such as aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Shiastu, Reiki or Trager to get your body back into balance? There are free Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Sound Therapy, Buddhist Meditation and two styles of Yoga classes daily and workshops in Music, Movement, Eurythmy and Voice Workshops throughout the weekend.
Timothy Freke, Author of The Jesus Mysteries, explores life through his Saturday workshop Becoming an Ambassador for Oneness. Malcolm Stern, who is co-presenter of Channel 4’s TV series, ‘Made for Each Other’, runs several workshops exploring relationships. There will be the chance to join him for a four-hour intensive workshop The Courage to Change, on Thursday. The titles of other talks and workshops through the weekend Falling in Love, Staying in Love; Conflict as a Force for Change and The Wisdom of Vulnerability sum up his life challenging sessions.

Katheryn Trenshaw, international Artist and expressive arts therapist presents workshops on Saturday & Sunday with Affirming The Female Body and Ravenheart. Katheryn has been facilitating creative expression workshops for over 15 years. Sue & Simon Lilly, authors of more than 20 books ranging from Crystal Therapy, Colour Healing , Health Kinesiology and Tree Essences. At QUEST they will be running workshops on Power Plants and Crystal Doorways.

Each of the many Workshop Leaders, bring with them a vast range of experience and a host of ideas to challenge your views on life. Some, such as Robin Currie (Money Guru) and Karen Kay (Daughters of Gaia), both well known to Connect readers, are QUEST regulars and many more are new, joining us for the first time.

There is a spiritual aspect to QUEST which includes Christian, Buddhist, Celtic, shamanic and Taoist groups. They come together in a sense of harmony each on their own quest.
The Festival element of QUEST brings together music from many cultures in the Stage Tent at lunchtime and during the evening performances. Music plays a large emotional part in life. Music and Voice workshops, didgeridoo and drum workshops contrast with Shabdan who will be facilitating a River of Light Consciousness Stream on Sunday. New this year is Capoeira, a sort of street dance that comes from Brazil.

A FREE 32 page programme is available listing the exhibitors and more than 180 talks and workshops. The whole programme can be down-loaded from the web site together with booking forms and discounted prices for advanced booking. www.questuk.co.uk
