Midsummer Celebrations in Cornwall
The Midsummer Festival is organised by Midsummer Events, alternative living & holistic event organisers based in Cornwall. To celebrate the summer solstice this year, they are promoting a Midsummer Festival at Chacewater Village Hall, Truro, on June 16th 18th.
The Festival will kick off with a concert by South West Duo “Madrum” on the Friday night. Madrum is the musical partnership of Gavin Frank and Lawrence Kelson. They present a powerful and unique sound, which reflects a deep longing, stated in songs, soundscapes, chants, and rhythm. Combinations of voice, Indian harmonium, guitar, keyboard, and an array of percussion instruments are used to reflect their interest in multi-cultural styles of music. They have performed at various festivals and venues in the South West including: Quest 2005, Rivenstone, Exeter Phoenix, and The Ariel Centre, Totnes. The Midsummer Festival will be one of their first live performances of the year after releasing their debut album. The doors open at 8pm, and tickets for the concert are £6 in advance, or £8 on the door, tickets also include admission to the main two day festival.
Local Cornish clairvoyant & aura reader, Sharon Moyle will be hosting an evening of clairvoyance. Sharon has been a clairvoyant for many years now and is highly respected throughout the South West. Tickets are £6 in advance or £8 on the door, and include admission to the festival.
The Midsummer Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday, and is open from 10am 5pm, with up to 40 stands and free workshops running on both days. Admission to the main event is £1.50 a day, with free entry for children aged under 14. .
