Dawn Star Summer Camp

Shamanic arts, ceremony and simple community living in sight of Glastonbury Tor, 19th – 26th August 2007
A whole week of fun and celebration, healing and relaxation, making new friends and enjoying the fresh air, sun, moon and stars awaits those booking to participate in the Dawn Star Summer Camp. Children of all ages are welcome, with plenty to do, share and experience in 32 acres of wild meadowland. Children’s activities begin at 10.30 each morning, with a full and varied programme of sessions such as journeying for power animals, and making costumes to dance the power of these animals awake, creating and learning about prayer flags and sticks, and learning the “children’s count” and how to connect to the powers of the universe to create. Clays ovens provide fresh spelt bread daily for everyone, and pizzas on the final night. There is also a dedicated teen space, which the young people help to design, build and decorate, and workshops for teens, led by an experienced youth worker, such as ‘Getting into and out of trouble’, ‘What you can do as a group, not as a gang’ and ‘Parents: how to get on with them and understand them..’
