A Bright Future for Local Arts

The Dartington Plus partnership has announced a £220,000 feasibility study to explore the creation of an Arts Park on the Dartington Hall Estate.

If viable, it would be the first rural arts park of its kind in the UK and would support the region’s creative talent and businesses. Whilst the detail of the proposed park will be the focus of the feasibility study, ideas already exist as to how it might operate in practice. It aims to have a creative learning resource centre with access to digital video, sound and broadcasting facilities, exhibition space, a writing centre, design studios, regional archives and a broad range of research and reference materials. Vaughan Lindsay, CEO,The Dartington Hall Trust said, “This is a hugely exciting initiative. If successful, it will transform our ability to support sustainable employment and self-employment for creative talent in the region.”
